I forget what I fed my Walther P22, but I know that an inexpensive and poweful (and accurate) .22LR round is the CCI Blazer 40-grain. It still comes in 50-round boxes. I bought some a few years ago for $2.30 a box. It's just as powerful as "Mini-Mags" but cheaper.
