I have to crank it up and speak louder in order to make it work properly. But sometimes I fail to speak that loud and my mate miss some part of what I say. Increasing the recording sound of my micro also increase the hiss level.

Somewhere there is a powerful output driving a sensitive input and it has been made to work by attenuating the input, leaving the system noise exaggerated.
